I designed ceramic hanging pots for planting Lady Dancing orchids as a project in my ceramic design class at Chulalongkorn University. The shape of the pots is inspired by the name of the orchid – Lady Dancing – and thus the cone form that mimics lady’s dress and engraved surface that captures fantasy and imagination

The engraved holes also serve as water drain from the pot. Holes for tying hanging string are at the base of the cone, and thus the “dress” will be bottom-up in use, creating contrast with the form of actual flowers.
